Whatever trait compels people to avoids what crawls, I don't seem to have it. I'm not sure if that's a fault, but it lets me sit with what others instinctively push away. This body of work (drawings, paintings, and animation) centers on small, often overlooked creatures. The more time I spent observing them, the more I've come to admire their complexities, their strength, and their contrasting fragility. These animals rarely hold our attention for long. Maybe a flicker of disgust at a mosquito or a passing pang of sympathy for a crab fading in the supermarket tank. Through metamorphizing their form, I hope to create a different encounter. One that makes us pause, sit with them longer, and provokes us to question how we categorize life (and our place in its wider web)
